Great Success for Condensed Matter Science in Dresden and Würzburg!

Complexity, Topology and Dynamics in Quantum Materials – ctd.qmat
We are thrilled to announce that our Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat—a joint initiative between TU Dresden and the University of Würzburg—will continue for a second funding period!
Following an extremely successful first phase from 2019 to 2025, which led to numerous groundbreaking discoveries in the field of quantum materials, our cluster has been renewed and will now enter its next chapter under the new name ctd.qmat. The acronym stands for Complexity, Topology and Dynamics in Quantum Materials, reflecting an expanded scientific vision that builds on the strong foundation laid over the past years.
You can learn more about our past and ongoing research at the cluster's website: ct.qmat website
At the Institute of Solid State and Materials Physics (IFMP), we are excited to contribute to this major endeavor and look forward to seven more years of cutting-edge research on quantum materials—tackling complex phenomena, exploring topological states, and advancing our understanding of dynamic processes at the frontier of condensed matter physics.
