Neuberufung am IFMP

Wir begrüßen ganz herzlich Herrn Professor Stefan Kaiser am IFMP und freuen uns, dass er seit dem 1. März ein Teil unseres Teams ist!

About Stefan Kaiser:
Stefan studied Physics at the RWTH Aachen and received his Diploma in 2005. His thesis was performed with Heinrich Kurz at the Institute for Semiconductor Technology focusing on coherent phonon dynamics in perovskites. From 2005-2009 he worked with Martin Dressel at the University of Stuttgart on optical properties of organic conductors and superconductors receiving his PhD in 2010.

As a postdoc and group leader he worked with Andrea Cavalleri in 2009 at the Max-Planck Research Department for Structural Dynamics at the Center for Free Electron Laser Science and at the University of Hamburg that in 2013 became an independent Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter. The main research focus in Hamburg was on pioneering experiments in the area of light-induced superconductivity.

In December 2014 Stefan became head of the independent Ultrafast Solid-State Spectroscopy group at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart and was appointed Juniorprofessor at the University of Stuttgart. His research on spectroscopy of collective excitations in coherent condensates lead to fingerprints of elusive states like excitonic insulators and the development of the Higgs-Spectroscopy of superconductors.

Now, at the Institute for Solid State and Materials Physics Stefan will start activities in the fields of “ultrafast spectroscopy and optical control of quantum materials”. His group will broaden his approach to novel systems and material classes and will develop new methods of spectroscopy and control with colleagues at the TU Dresden and the Dresden-concept partners.
