Coulomb explosion in collisions between Kr8+ and N2 molecules
Movie:
Time dependence of the electronic density in a Kr8+ + N2 collision calculated with NA-QMD [1]. The highly-charged ion (HCI) removes all valence electrons of the molecule, leading to its Coulomb explosion.
