Dresden Promotionspreis Physik for two doctoral students of the SFB

We congratulate Dr. Urban Seifert and Dr. Ruben Verresen for the Dresden Promotionspreis Physik, which was awarded for the 2nd time on January 5, 2021. Both have completed their Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics within the SFB 1143 with excellent scientific achievements. Dr. Seifert's PhD thesis was on "Novel phases and light-induced dynamics in quantum magnets" and he is now continuing his work as a postdoctoral researcher at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Dr. Verresen wrote his PhD thesis on "Topology and Excitations in Low-Dimensional Quantum Matter" at the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems Dresden. After receiving his PhD in 2019, he moved to Harvard to continue his research. We wish them both much success in their future careers.
