Research Training Group: 4th PhD Symposium

David Moser and Pedro M. Cônsoli, winners of the presentation award and Michel Miranda, winner of the best poster award during the 4th PhD symposium of the SFB 1143.
The 4th Symposium of the PhD program in Correlated Magnetism took place on April 4, 2023. During the Symposium the SFB 1143 doctoral researchers and associated doctoral researchers of SFB project partners presented their projects with short oral presentations as well as poster presentations. Besides the opportunity to present their research projects this Symposium offered the chance to get to know the research of other groups in the SFB, and to discuss different scientific approaches. The Symposium was organized by first year doctoral researchers and the GRK coordinator. The best oral presentation and poster presentation, which were determined by a scientific committee consisting of 3 participating project partners, were awarded a prize. Due to the excellent performance of two PhD students, the prize for the best oral presentation was awarded twice.
The 1st place in the category best oral presentation was shared by David Moser on Quasiuniversality from all-in-all-out Weyl quantum criticality in pyrochlore iridate with Pedro M. Cônsoli on Kondo breakdown transitions and phase-separation tendencies in valence-fluctuating heavy-fermion materials. The 1st place for the best poster presentation went to Michel Miranda with the contribution Kondo meets Kitaev at the square-octagon bar. We congratulate the winners for their outstanding achievements. We congratulate both scientists for their outstanding achievements. More information about the Symposium can be found here.
