Contribution to GenderLectures at the TU Dresden
As part of the hybrid lecture series GenderLectures at TU Dresden, Dr. Tina Karabinski and Annika Lau gave a joint presentation on June 3, 2025: “Mit Coaching, Mentoring und KI zum Studien- und Karriereerfolg – und wie ein Chatbot dabei unterstützen kann”.
Dr. Tina Karabinski took over the first part. She gave a theory-based overview of coaching and mentoring as key instruments for promoting study and career progression, with a particular focus on women in STEM subjects. In addition to conceptual definitions, she presented mechanisms of action and formats and illustrated their importance using current research and concrete practical examples, for example, from the FioKo project.
In the second part, Annika Lau presented current developments in the field of AI-supported chatbots for study support. Based on results from the NAiC project, she showed how digital tools such as AI coaches can make a targeted contribution to supporting students individually and open up new perspectives for diversity-sensitive, needs-oriented career support.
The event was part of the GenderLectures series, which focused on the topic “Gendersensibilisierung und -stereotypisierung in digitalen Lehr-Lern-Räumen” in the summer semester of 2025.
It was organized by the GenderConceptGroup and the Team Digitale Lehre in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at TU Dresden.
