Chair of Psychological Methods and Cognitive Modeling
At the Chair, scientists from different disciplines (cognitive scientists, psychologists, mathematicians) work closely together in research and teaching.
About the Chair
Our interdisciplinary composition enables us to competently cover a wide range of topics in both research and teaching.
In research, this is reflected in various research projects on computational cognitive modeling and dynamic measurement and analysis methods. Examples include current projects on the dynamics of target representations or on processes that lead to functioning social interactions.
In addition to the regular courses in the Bachelor's degree program and in the Master's degree programs CAN and HPSTS, we also regularly offer special optional courses that are designed to support particularly interested students. Examples include our optional course on data analysis with R or the optional in-depth seminar on modeling.
In the area of continuing education, we are active both within the TU and beyond. Examples of this are the Human Action Control Summer School in Cluj, Romania in 2015 or regular courses on the use of statistical software and complex multivariate methods as part of the Graduate Academy or the Center for Continuing Education. Our e-learning module Methods of Psychology is used within the TU and throughout Germany to supplement regular studies as well as for continuing education.
