Teaching and Research at the Chair
Our Chair is responsible for teaching methods in the Bachelor's degree program (5 modules) and in the Master's degree programs CAN and HPSTS (1 module each). We enrich our basic and practice-oriented teaching with innovative elements such as the e-learning module Methods of Psychology or the practical application of current software.
In addition, we continuously offer topics for methodological Bachelor's and Master's theses and advise students in the methodological-statistical field in the preparation of their Bachelor's or Master's thesis.
The Chair's core research areas are computational modeling of cognitive processes under the direction of Prof. Stefan Scherbaum. Further research competencies of the Chair lie in the areas of dynamic measurement and analysis methods and complex multivariate statistical methods.
Our research is highly funded by third parties such as the DFG and the Volkswagen Foundation.
In addition to these teaching and research tasks, we are active in university continuing education and collaborate as methodologists with colleagues from other Chairs on their research projects.
