Successful acquisition of two mobile video labs for patient-oriented teaching
Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Zietlow was able to acquire two mobile video labs from the TU Dresden's Digital Learning and Teaching Fund 2023/2024, which can be used to broadcast psychotherapy sessions live in seminar rooms via video.
Students in the specialised Master's programme in clinical psychology and psychotherapy will be actively involved in the diagnosis, therapy planning and psychotherapeutic treatment of patients as part of their internship at the University Outpatient Clinic and Research Centre for Psychotherapy (UFP).
However, due to the high sensitivity of the therapeutic setting, the personal presence of students in the therapy room where psychotherapists and patients work together is not always possible. The mobile video lab makes it possible for students to participate directly via video transmission in ongoing psychotherapies conducted by licensed psychotherapists - with the explicit consent of the patients, of course. This enables students to experience role models in a variety of therapeutic situations and thus receive introductory support for their own therapeutic practice. The mobile video labs also provide an excellent basis for receiving feedback and reflecting on the psychotherapeutic work done.
