ICPP Symposium: Scientific Symposium of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
The ICPP Symposium, which took place from July 13 to 14, was organized this semester by the staff of the Chair of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. The symposium aimed to present the diverse topics of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the TU Dresden. In various presentations, the staff presented their research on, for example, bipolar disorders, the treatment of sexually borderline violating children and adolescents, addiction regulation, parenting and mental health, as well as clinical decision making and mental health apps. In addition, two renowned keynote speakers were invited: Prof. Dr. Cornelia Exner from the University of Leipzig reported on a metacognitive model of OCD and what contribution it can make to understanding the disorder and improving treatment. Prof. Dr. Matthias Schurz from the University of Innsbruck presented the current state of research on the neurofunctional organization of social cognition. As another highlight, a small summer party with barbecue and beautiful weather took place on Thursday evening, where all participants could further exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Overall, the ICPP symposium was a very inspiring and stimulating event that promoted exchange and discussion between staff and students. We would like to thank all participants and speakers who contributed to the success of the symposium. We are already looking forward to future symposia and the further promotion of scientific exchange.
