Research at the Chair for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology

At the Chair of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology we study the development, maintenance and treatment of mental disorders from early childhood to adolescence. In our Child and Family Mental Health Lab (CFMH Lab), we focus on researching psychological developmental deficits and disorders in childhood and adolescence. We are particularly interested in the effects of parental mental disorders and early traumatic experiences on child development. Other areas of focus are parent-child interaction, early childhood disorders (including early regulation disorders, attachment disorders) and psychotherapy for refugee children, adolescents and their families ( e.g. family-based interpersonal psychotherapy). Our research involves both theoretical and applied questions and a variety of methods (e.g. interaction paradigms, developmental tests, biomarkers, imaging techniques).
