Research and teaching
One of the tasks of the University Outpatient Clinic is the scientific investigation of mental disorders and psychotherapy. Our research aims to review the effectiveness of existing psychotherapies, improve them and develop new treatment options. This ensures that our range of therapies is always at the cutting edge of science.
At the University Outpatient Clinic, we regularly conduct scientific studies to expand our knowledge of mental disorders and improve treatment options. We therefore inform our patients about current studies and regularly ask whether they are interested in participating in a study. Participation in studies may, for example, involve the anonymized evaluation of data collected during the diagnostic process (i.e. data that cannot be traced back to you personally). At the beginning of each treatment, we may inform you about the possibility of participating in a study. Your written consent will be obtained for each study participation.
As a university institution, we also participate in the training of prospective psychotherapists in order to provide them with comprehensive and practical academic training. This means that psychotherapists in training are involved in the treatment. They are always under the professional supervision of licensed colleagues so that the quality of treatment is ensured at all times.
