VerDatAs - Networking and data-driven assistance for vocational training
Project description
VerDatAs is one of the winners of the INVITE innovation competition (https://www.bibb.de/de/120851.php ; Digitale Plattform Berufliche Weiterbildung), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the National Continuing Education Strategy. In the project, networking activities of platforms and innovative methods of vocational education and training are developed and tested. Findability and accuracy of fit of continuing education offers of different granularity will be decisively improved by innovative competence measurement methods and AI-supported learning analytics methods. In addition, platforms and tools are being made more user-friendly for those interested in continuing education, and learning experiences and outcomes are being improved.
The overall project will be built on three pillars:
- Networking of different platforms and technical systems
- Development of data-supported assistance systems to support the learning processes
- Use of a common pedagogical-psychological classification system, in which the choice of the learning objective as well as the given learning prerequisites of the learner can be visualized and taken into account (content taxonomy)
The Chair of Psychology of Learning and Instruction will design, develop and test a tutorial AI assistance system in interdisciplinary collaboration with the Chair of Computer Networks at TU Dresden (https://tu-dresden.de/ing/informatik/sya/professur-fuer-rechnernetze). This system will support teachers and learners in simplifying the search for information, visualizing teaching material and learning processes, optimizing problem-solving steps, and deriving recommendations for further learning paths from process analyses.
