In 2018, the Faculty Council of Psychology established the following scientific achievements as criteria equivalent to habilitation:
- The doctoral degree must have been completed at least four years prior.
- At least two distinct, independently conducted teaching courses within the last four years*, which have received positive evaluations.
- A minimum of five publications as either first or last author in peer-reviewed, English-language journals over the past five years*, which are not part of the doctoral dissertation.
- At least one independently and competitively acquired third-party funded research project as either sole or co-applicant, with a duration of no less than one year and including at least a 50% staff position for a doctoral candidate, postdoctoral researcher, or the applicant’s own position.
*These time frames are subject to exceptions in cases such as illness, parental leave, or caregiving leave.
