First exciting longitudinal data from the SFB940
In SFB940, we are part of a longitudinal study that has now been investigating individuals for 7 years with regard to cognitive control functions, everyday self-control and dependent behaviour. There are already many exciting findings on the cross-sectional data from the first survey (see here). The current paper, which has now been published, shows in the first analyses of the longitudinal data that reduced cognitive control is more important for the escalation of addictive behaviour than for the progression of addiction symptoms.
