Nov 19, 2024; Workshop
For international students: In Simple Terms - Labor Law (engl.)
Online-Workshop (BigBlueButton)
Teaching Language: English
Are 28 vacation days a lot or little? What means Wettbewerbsverbot? Why must my employer know that I am working on weekends? Is it better to give notice myself or to receive a termination? It is important to show performance on the job. Another skill is to be aware of your own rights and duties. With your knowledge you are able to assess your contract and to act self-confident in contract negotiations. Additionally you learn about important German terms in labour law to avoid suprises and to get equipped for difficult situations (Tarifverträge, Zeitarbeit, Arbeitsort, Kündigung).
Technical requirements: Microphone, camera, stable internet connection (the use of a chrome-based browser is recommended)
Registration for the online workshop takes place via OPAL. The access link to the video conferencing tool (here: BigBlueButton) will be sent to all participants registered with OPAL before the start of the event.
