Data protection declaration
1. Purpose and data collecting authority
The personal data requested personally or via a form in the offers of the Writing Centre is used exclusively for the preparation, implementation, follow-up, evaluation and, if applicable, invoicing of the corresponding offers.

All counselling services for students and teachers, such as writing advice, the writing marathon, workshops, newsletters and conferences like the Long Night of Writing can be found on the Writing Centre's website at: tu-dresden.de/deinstudienerfolg/szd.
Data protection information image and sound recordings
At events with large numbers of participants, image and sound recordings can also be carried out during the event. The image recordings will show individuals or groups of participants who are not in the centre of the picture. Media representatives, the Writing Centre of TU Dresden and its cooperation partners are entitled to publish the recordings for public information. This particularly applies to publication on tu-dresden.de/deinstudienerfolg/szd, on social media channels of the Writing Centre (Facebook) and in printed media (information brochures, press releases, presentations). Participating persons have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from their particular situation, to the making of image and sound recordings concerning them. The objection is to be communicated to the person producing image or sound recordings at the location.
2. Obligation to provide personal data
The provision of the data is necessary to enable the Writing Centre to offer its services.
3. Data processing
From the personal data requested, statistical data such as
- the number of participants in the offer
- Type and affiliation of the participants (field of study, semester)
are created in order to document the Writing Centre project and to evaluate the offer, to optimise it according to the needs and to be able to use this data for accounting purposes and to prepare for future offers.
With your registration, you agree to the sending of emails related to the offer.
4. Period of storage
All retrieved data is stored on the servers of the Writing Centre of TU Dresden. After completion of the offer and the associated evaluation, the data is anonymised and permanently stored in anonymised form.
On the day of some events, such as the Long Night of Writing or a Writing Marathon, signature lists with names and affiliations generated from the collected data are available. These lists are stored permanently for accounting purposes, for proof of photo/video permission or refusal, as well as for receiving further information about offers of the Writing Centre of Technische Universität Dresden.
5. Deletion of data
Personal data will be deleted after completion of the offer and the associated evaluation. The prior deletion of data requires a written notification to schreibzentrum@mailbox.tu-dresden.de.
6. Data transmission and publication
Data will not be transferred to third parties. Your personal data will not be published at any time.
7. Voluntariness and revocation
The provision of all data is voluntary. You can refuse this consent or revoke it informally with effect for the future without giving reasons by sending an email to schreibzentrum@mailbox.tu-dresden.de. In these cases, it is not or no longer possible to participate in the offers of the Writing Centre of TU Dresden and to receive emails. If the revocation is made after the end of the offer or the event, your data will be deleted, unless there are no legal reasons opposing this.
8. Your rights
I am aware that I may at any time request information about the personal data processed and the possible recipients of this data. In addition, I have the right to correct my data and to restrict data processing.
9. Right of appeal to the supervisory authority
According to Art. 77 GDPR, participants have the right to complain to a supervisory authority if they believe that their personal data are being processed in an unlawful manner.

I am aware that I can contact the Data Protection Officer of TU Dresden as well as the responsible Supervisory Authority for Data Protection at any time.

Exclusion of liability
Neither the Writing Centre nor TU Dresden can accept liability. There is no insurance cover for participants of all events. Neither the Writing Centre nor TU Dresden assumes any liability for personal injury, property damage or financial losses that occur during the events. It is recommended that participants organise private insurance.
If you do not agree with the conditions of the exclusion of liability, participation in the offers of the Writing Centre will unfortunately not be possible.
Employees of TU Dresden, who attend continuing education in the interest of the service, are insured by law.
