From winter semester 2016/17 to winter semester 2018/19, subject-specific German courses for international MINT students took place at the Languages and Cultures Teaching Centre as part of the ESF project „DaF trifft MINT“. The project supported international students in basic and advanced courses to acquire specialist and scientific language in the specialist field of studies. Another special feature of the courses was the fact that they were held by each faculty independently and that they promoted both written and oral communication in the university.
Are you interested in these kinds of courses? Then take a look at the profile courses (P courses) offered by the Languages and Cultures Teaching Centre. There you will also find the subject-specific German courses beyond the duration of the project.

Learning Outcome Verified Encouragement at MINT Studies (LOVE@MINT)
In conjunction with the students and lecturers in the Civil Engineering Degree Programme, measures were developed and tested to facilitate learning in the module “Fundamentals of Technical Mechanics”. As a result, 1st semester modules, which were considered to be very demanding by students, were permanently redesigned. This means that new, modern elements of didactics are now being used to support teachers in making seminars even more interactive, while encouraging students to deal actively and extensively with the subject matter. In addition, an e-learning course in technical mechanics and electrostatics will be added to the online catalogue for distance learning students. If you would like to find out more about our project, give us feedback or contribute to the design of our teaching, please visit us!

Making Teachers Confident (TUD_MTC)
Are you a teacher training student looking to successfully complete your studies? The project “Making Teachers Confident (TUD_MTC)” will help you on your way.
For students in the 1st and 2nd semesters, interdisciplinary tutorials are held at the beginning and over the course of the semester, conducted by qualified tutors. Topics include academic work, exam preparation and career expectations. The tutors are also available to you personally as contact persons.
Are you a teacher training student in a higher semester (in at least the third academic year) seeking further education? Our competence course (Zertifikatskurs) provides information and training on various topics by specialists and experts with practical experience. Later you can pass this information on to first semester students as a tutor.
Do you need individual support from a professional? Then come and see us at the Coaching Office. After the fundamental issues have been discussed in an initial interview, you can decide if you’d like to have a professional coach free of charge.

With this project, we aim to make the study conditions at TU Dresden more flexible so that students with other important responsibilities, e.g. job, family, illness, etc. can also study successfully. We therefore assist teachers in integrating digitally supported teaching and learning scenarios into their courses. The teachers are in turn supported by student e-scouts.
