The application phase 2019 has been completed - and what will happen next?
Information for applicants
The application phase for the scholarship year 2019/20 has now been completed and all 1226 applications have already been formally reviewed. While you can hopefully recover from the exam stress, we are now starting the decision process about the future scholarship holders for the coming funding year.
But what happens to my application now?
Your applications will now be forwarded to the faculty where you are studying. There a selection board will deal with the documents of all applicants of your faculty and create a selection and a ranking.
Then, in mid-September, there will be a meeting with the sponsors who will take part in the selection process in a consultative role. The selection will be made on the basis of your academic achievements, your commitment and taking into account obstacles in your path of life so far. The selection boards will then make the final decisions on the awarding of scholarships together with the rectorial board at the beginning of October.
When will I find out whether I will receive a scholarship?
You will find out whether you will receive a scholarship around mid-October. Due to the large number of applications we receive and the multi-step selection process, we are unfortunately unable to send the notifications earlier. Please refrain from asking about application status until then - we thank you for your patience!
