Admission requirements
- Proof of a relevant domestic university degree in medicine or dentistry corresponding to at least 300 credits according to the ECTS standard, or a domestic or foreign university degree equivalent
- Participants who are not from an EU country must provide proof of a professional license (dental license) from their country after completing their first professional degree
- Proof of sufficient knowledge of German or English corresponding to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, demonstrated by appropriate language certificates
- Conclusion of a training contract with the International Medical College (IMC)
- Proof that the applicant is already enrolled in specialist training to become a specialist orthodontist in Germany. The relevant examination board decides on exceptions.

The application must first be submitted externally to the International Medical College (IMC) at Enrollment at TU Dresden only takes place after approval by the IMC.
General information about the degree program
The Master's program in Specialized Orthodontics offers in-depth, structured, and practice-oriented continuing education in the field of modern orthodontics. In cooperation with the International Medical College (MIB), the program combines scientific foundations, innovative treatment methods, and clinical excellence in an internationally oriented educational concept.
Study contents
The program provides comprehensive knowledge in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of dental and jaw misalignments in children, adolescents, and adults. The focus is on fixed and removable appliances, modern biomechanical concepts, digital orthodontic workflows, and interdisciplinary treatment approaches. The close link between theory, practical training, and clinical application enables the evidence-based and patient-oriented implementation of complex orthodontic therapies.
Occupational fields
Graduates of the Master's program in Specialized Orthodontics acquire a recognized academic qualification and develop the professional competence to independently perform orthodontic treatments at the highest scientific and clinical level.
