Accident Reports
In Unit Safety at Work, all accident reports are recorded and processed.
Employees, including trainees, student assistants, research assistants, interns and TUD students, are legally insured through the Public Sector Accident Insurer Saxony (German: Unfallkasse Sachsen, UKS) in the event of accidents directly related to work or study activities, including the way to and from the university.
If civil servants are involved in an accident at work, the State Office for Taxes and Finances (German: Landesamt für Steuern und Finanzen) is responsible within the framework of work accident management.
Further information can be found below on accident insurance and the forms to be completed after each accident for:

If a visit to the doctor becomes necessary, it should be reported immediately that it is a work or commuting accident. This immediately eliminates the need for additional payments for medication and treatment.
Work and commuting accidents must be reported. Accidents that do not require medical treatment no longer need to be reported. These accidents should either be documented using the "Documentation of first aid services" reporting pad (as a data protection-compliant replacement for the first aid book) or the form that can be completed electronically. The storage of the individual reports for at least 5 years is exclusively intended to be decentralized at a representative.
If a doctor's visit is subsequently required, the previous procedure applies, i.e. the relevant accident report should be sent to our Unit with signature(s).
A small internal accident report is to be submitted for accidents with a doctor' s visit and up to 3 days of incapacity for work, a large accident report for incapacity for work of more than 3 days. All forms must be signed by the supervisor or the respective authorized representative and sent to our Unit.
The minor and major accident reports (signature of the Personnel Representation Council is obtained by the Unit Safety at Work) are forwarded to Unfallkasse Sachsen.
If the accident was caused by a third party (e.g. traffic accidents, black ice, defective road conditions, building defects) and if the employee is unable to work, the notification form for third party caused events must be sent to our Unit in addition to the above forms. The same applies to off-duty accidents caused by third parties, whereby the accident victim must then send the notification form directly to Directorate Personnel 2. The report forms for incidents caused by third parties are forwarded to the State Office for Taxation and Finance for examination of claims for damages by the Free State of Saxony.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. May, Technical Control Centre Building, 0351 463-34470.
If civil servants suffer an occupational accident, the responsibility lies with the State Office for Taxation and Finance.
