Environmental management according to EMAS
Since 2003 the TU Dresden has an environmental management system according to EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). By participating in EMAS, the TU Dresden shows that it is committed to environmental protection beyond the required level and that, as an educational institution, it sees its task in continuously reviewing environmental aspects and communicating environmental awareness in research and teaching as well as implementing it in its daily work. As a consequence, the university has issued environmental guidelines that reflect the focus of the environment-oriented policy at the TU Dresden. EMAS requires participating organizations to undergo regular validation by a state-approved environmental auditor and to show their commitment in an environmental report.
