Microtechnologists manufacture microtechnology products using process engineering. As a microtechnologist, your work includes elements of logistics, process engineering, quality management, waste disposal and technical support. You will work in the infrastructure, research and development areas of manufacturing for businesses and research institutions. Microsystem technology focuses on the manufacture of mounting boards for electrical components using coating technology and the production of microelectromechanical systems via placement, soldering, bonding, sealing and testing. Typical tasks include the manufacture of circuit boards with thick-film or thin-film technology, hybrid and surface-mounting technology and the manufacture of components using photolithography, electroplating or molding techniques. Microtechnologists manufacture products for fields as diverse as automotive engineering, communications, environmental protection, as well as micropumps or micromotors.
Prerequisites
Applicants should have received good grades in school, possess scientific and technical understanding and be manually adept. Your proficiency in English is a plus.
