The TU Dresden participates in the roaming project of the DFN (DFN = Deutsches ForschungsNetz; Internet provider of German universities). This means that employees, students and also guests whose universities also participate in DFN roaming can gain access to the TU Dresden's wireless LAN eduroam. Conversely, members of the TU Dresden can also use eduroam on site at the locations of other participating universities. To ensure that mobile devices can securely log on to eduroam at all participating locations, we recommend setting up eduroam using the CAT tool in conjunction with the geteduroam app. Both are provided by the Europe-wide eduroam community. In addition to the eduroam WLAN, a guest WLAN is operated: Via this network, external persons who do not have a ZIH login can get access to the Internet via a WLAN connection. Every employee of TU Dresden can generate such a WLAN guest account temporarily available for external users in the self-service portal. For conferences, WLAN guest accounts can be ordered via the Service Desk.
