As part of the branding process, we have identified the specific strengths and unique selling points of TUD Dresden University of Technology. And this is precisely where the new corporate design comes in, translating this revamped self-perception into a contemporary and cohesive brand presence. A modern and eye-catching logo, harmonious color palettes, and clear, easy-to-read fonts—these basic elements of our corporate design form the foundation of our visual communication and ensure a high level of brand visibility across all channels.
The TUD logo has been refreshed with a modern interpretation. Fundamental elements such as the distinctive octagon and the three-line typography remain in the new logo and create continuity. Our beloved TUD blue is still the primary color, but is fresher, more digital and brighter. The matching palette of secondary colors has been expanded and ensures more flexibility With Noto Sans, we have chosen a universal and freely available font family that is ideally suited to TUD's international, cross-media communications due to its broad character coverage and diverse styles. It guarantees legibility, design flexibility and a uniform appearance – regardless of language or medium.
All communication media are designed for multiple platforms, with simplified layouts, clearer structures, and high functionality, reflecting the university’s brand values in a modern design. This offers more usage flexibility, making TUD's diversity more visible while ensuring a consistent and recognizable presence across all channels.
The new corporate design was developed and implemented in collaboration with the Berlin-based 3pc agency. The agency accompanied the entire design process from conception to implementation with its in-house corporate design team.
Over the coming months, the new corporate design will be implemented step by step and will be visible in our various communication channels.
