Learning and getting involved in society? It's possible! At reflektiert.engagiert you will attend online events and learn how you can become active in the field of sustainable development and why this is not only important for "ecologists". At the same time, you can get involved in selected and supervised practical projects and experience how you can become active in the field of sustainability yourself.
It's up to you: organize the FUN summer festival and network meeting for equality, design the hands-on festival on sustainability, plan and implement a plant swap and host an interactive sustainability breakfast - all for a more sustainable future!

This lecture series deals with the question of why we need to rethink our use of raw materials. Topics include the impact of mining on people and the environment, the growing problems with e-waste and resistance to harmful practices. We look at what solutions are available - from recycling and sustainable product design to the right to repair. We also take a look at global connections and issues of justice. The aim is to find ways to use our resources in a more environmentally friendly and fairer way.
Environmental lecture "Is a greener world a better one?" - Greenwashing and Co."
When? Wednesdays, 16.40 - 18.10, from 16.04.2025

This environmental lecture takes a critical look at the phenomenon of greenwashing - a process in which companies falsely create the impression of being particularly environmentally friendly or sustainable in order to improve their image. You've probably seen packaging that claims to be recyclable but doesn't use recycled materials. We also look at marketing strategies and opaque sustainability certificates that often confuse us as consumers and suggest sustainability, making us victims of greenwashing. Another important part of the lecture is education about real sustainability: what criteria do companies need to meet to be authentically sustainable and how can informed, sustainable purchasing decisions be made? The aim of the course is for you to be able to distinguish between greenwashing and genuine sustainability and to develop an awareness of the importance of genuine, transparent sustainability practices.
"Air for life - Interdisciplinary perspectives in cooperation with DRESDEN-concept"
When: Tuesdays, 18.30 - 20.00, from 15.04.2025
Where: Görges-Bau/127
Enrolment via OPAL
Air is omnipresent, vital, yet intangible - a central element that connects us and yet often goes unnoticed.
The lecture series aims to highlight the multi-layered importance of air in science, society and the environment. Experts from TU Dresden and the DRESDEN-concept science alliance will shed light on the diverse issues surrounding the topic of air from the perspective of various scientific and cultural disciplines.
The interdisciplinary topic of air is currently being explored in the exhibition "Air. One for All" exhibition at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden. https://www.dhmd.de/ausstellungen/luft
