4th Future Lab: "All alone or all together?"
"All Alone or all together" was the title of the 4th Future Lab on April 26, 2018 - more than a mere provocation to spark interest. " Even if the times are long gone when institutions would insist on acting independently – all alone so to speak – we should ponder under what conditions, in what form, and in what fields co-operations could be viable for the future", Rector Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen pointed out in his invitation for the event.
About 130 participants joined in and shared ideas in seven thematic groups on what co-operation requires in order to tackle the challenges of the future and create an environment that is enriching for all?
The discussions focused on joint interdisciplinary endeavours at TU Dresden, global collaborations and strategic partnerships, shared infrastructures and platforms, co-operation in teaching, co-operations at the Dresden science hub within the DRESDEN-concept research alliance as well as with universities of applied sciences.
In the six Future Labs (ZIH login required), which will take place in the spring of 2018, the central aspects of the overall strategy of TU Dresden will be discussed and a common vision for the future of our university - up until 2028 - will be devised.
The last two events in this series (ZIH login required) will take place on May 17 (focusing on "university culture") and on May 31 (focusing on human resource development) 2018 at the Dülferstraße ballroom.
