Alternatives to the throwaway society: TUD participates in the European Week for Waste Reduction
Environmental and resource protection starts with the avoidance of waste. To make people even more aware of this topic, the European Week for Waste Reduction takes place from 21 to 29 November 2020. For the eleventh time, thousands of public campaigns will demonstrate alternatives to the throwaway society and waste of resources throughout Europe. The TU Dresden is also participating in the campaign. The environmental management gives daily tips to reduce waste in everyday life at university and at home.
"Invisible Waste: Waste that we do not see - look closely!“ - is this year's motto. An important topic, because too many things go into the waste, which do not belong there yet. Whether cell phones or washing machines, toys or clothes: it is worthwhile to look for alternatives to throwing them away. Waste avoidance and reuse are at the top of the EU‘s waste hierarchy. Actors from business and industry, administration, education as well as civil society presenting innovative ideas and forward-looking projects to reduce waste during the action week.
