Bundestag election 2025: TUD participates in the nationwide media campaign in support of diversity #Zusammenland: Gemeinsam für eine starke Wahlbeteiligung
TUD Dresden University of Technology is a strong advocate for democracy and the values inseparably associated with it, such as respect, diversity and cosmopolitanism. For this reason, TUD is championing the nationwide “#Zusammenland – Vielfalt macht uns stark” (#Togetherland - Diversity makes us strong) campaign. Launched by German publishers and media companies, the initiative aims to increase voter turnout in the upcoming federal election. The campaign is being advertised in newspapers and on social media with slogans such as “Your vote, your power!”
“These times demand a firm stance! Today, it is more important than ever to stand up for an inclusive society that embraces solidarity. #Zusammenland counteracts hate and populism and wants to show that diversity is our strength. We stand united for an inclusive country that confronts challenges with courage. For a new way of living together. Our strength lies in our diversity,” reads the initiative's website.
Around 700 organizations, foundations, companies and NGOs are participating in the #Zusammenland campaign. Among the 350 academic institutions are several German universities, the Leibniz Association and the Max Planck Society. From Saxony, TU Dresden, Leipzig University and Chemnitz University of Technology are participating in the campaign.
In addition to the #Zusammenland campaign, TUD stands with other Saxon universities, student unions, and the Conference of Saxon Student Bodies (German: KSS) in urging its eligible members to exercise their voting rights in the Bundestag election on February 23, 2025 under the motto #GehWählen (#GoVote).
