Campus design from the sofa
The participation campaign Project: BAUKASTEN for the design of the TU Campus starts on March 3, 2021! Students, teachers and visitors of the TU Dresden campus are invited to contribute with ideas and visions.
Team KACADU from the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture is moderating a co-design campaign to develop modular street furniture as building blocks for the TU campus. The design of the building blocks will be designed and discussed in a participatory way with the future users in a 3D environment. At three selected locations (Hörsaalzentrum, parking lot Trefftz-Bau, parking area in front of the Alte Mensa) the participants can design new places e.g. for co-working, event meeting points or flexible seating.
The "participation from home" is made possible by the online participation platform U_CODE (Urban Collective Design Environment) developed by the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Lab. The collected designs will serve as a basis for the later realization of the street furniture. It is planned to realize the designs in the form of several temporary prototypes probably between May and August 2021 on the TUD campus.
