“International relations” is the focus of the alumni magazine
This issue highlights the Center for International Studies (ZIS) at TU Dresden. The ZIS cooperates with more than 30 universities and colleges around the world and contributes to TU Dresden's international reputation. Behind the "International Relations" (IB) degree program, which is unique in Germany, lies the fact that economics, international law and international politics (as a subfield of political science) are studied on an equal footing. This means more intensive advising and supervision than in other degree programs. The Bachelor's degree program, which was introduced in 1998, was interdisciplinary from the outset. The classic constellation of major and minor subject did not exist, but the subjects were and still are studied on an equal footing. Every year, 35 to 36 Bachelor's students are admitted, this year there are 39 for the first time. 25 to 30 students enrol on the Master's course introduced in 2008, this year for the first time there are 38. The IB alumni of the ZIS are in great demand and are pursuing highly interesting paths.
