Public screening and live analysis on Election Night: TUD symposium will discuss the impact of the US election
The US presidential election will take place on November 5, 2024. In Germany, many people are following the duel between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump with both suspense and a fair amount of concern. In fact, the election will have a significant impact on Germany. Staff from the Institute of Political Science invite you to the Election Night event in the Zeuner Building at TU Dresden on November 5. The program will include lectures and interdisciplinary workshops, a panel discussion, and live coverage from the United States. The evening will conclude with a public screening of the first exit votes and projections.
On the occasion of the US presidential election, the Election Night, organized by the Chair of International Politics and the Chair of Political Systems and Comparative Politics, will bring together academic experts and voices from politics, society and business from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm on the evening of November 5.
Expert talks and short workshops will shed light on various aspects of the presidential election, such as the role of social media in the election campaign, the increasing polarization, and the economic ties between Germany and the United States of America. On the podium, representatives from politics and business will talk to researchers about the implications of the US presidential election and their consequences for Europe, Germany and Saxony. The public screening of the first forecasts and projections, along with live analysis by experts, will round off the program.
