Dr Mozhdeh Shirinzadeh as Humboldt Fellow at TU Dresden's Institute of Steel Construction for two years
From 11 July, the circle of scientists in Professor Stroetmann's team at the Institute of Steel and Timber Construction at TU Dresden will be expanded by a Humboldt Fellow. For the next two years, Dr. Mozhdeh Shirinzadeh will be working at the Institute on the refurbishment of bridges with orthotropic road surfaces using a modified orthocomposite deck system as part of a scientific thesis.
Dr. Shirinzadeh was able to be recruited for the TU Dresden within the framework of a Georg Forster Research Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This scholarship supports researchers with above-average qualifications in all disciplines from developing and emerging countries. The steel construction professorship is expecting a lot from the joint research work: after completing her Bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the University of Zanjan in Iran, Dr Shirinzadeh was the best graduate in her Master's programme at the University of Guilan. She completed her PhD on "Modified simple steel connection in CBFs with moderate height against progressive collapse" at Shahid Rajaee University in Tehran in the Department of Civil Engineering.
