Installation in the Robotron cafeteria: Built architecture and augmented reality merge
Researchers and students at Technische Universität Dresden have investigated the relationship between built architecture and augmented reality as part of the project "Knowledge Creates Space - Hybrid Spaces". The result can be seen in the Robotron cafeteria from February 15 to 18, 2023: During a parcour of experiences, exhibition visitors experience how structural and virtual elements mutually extend and complement each other, are interwoven or even contradict each other. Augmented reality seems to undermine the very idea of reality and re-imagines the concept. Multiple realities thus enter into the perception of the visitors.
Everyone is cordially invited to visit the exhibition. In order to visit the exhibition, a time slot must be booked in advance at https://ixlabbook.inf.tu-dresden.de. The tour of the exhibition lasts about half an hour and is permitted only to persons 16 years of age or older.
"Knowledge Creates Space - Hybrid Spaces" is a collaborative project of IXLAB Immersive Experience Lab (Prof. Matthew McGinity), the Chair of Visual Culture Studies in a Global Context (Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schankweiler) and the Chair of Foundations in Art and Architecture (Prof. Dr. Henning Haupt) at Technische Universität Dresden.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Free State of Saxony as part of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal and State Governments. The exhibition was created in collaboration with EU4ART. The collaboration in the Robotron cafeteria is supported by the Kunsthaus Dresden. With gratitude to Gateway Real Estate.
