New ALL#HANDS research project aims to make the Internet safer
ALL#HANDS kick-off meeting at TUD
The research project "ALL#HANDS - Robust Data Ecosystem for a Cooperative Internet Situation and Information Center" has now officially started with a kick-off meeting at TU Dresden. Over the next three years, eight partners from science and industry will be working together in the network to sustainably strengthen digital resilience in Germany.
The aim of the project is to improve digital resilience in Germany. This means that internet and data systems should be better able to deal with disruptions, outages or attacks. To this end, capabilities are being developed for cross-operator situation analyses for digital infrastructures. These are intended to make disruption processes and interdependencies transparent, support data-based reactions in the event of an incident and enable coordinated emergency planning.
Small and medium-sized enterprises in particular will be better supported in the event of a crisis. To this end, ALL#HANDS is creating a secure and trustworthy data ecosystem to bring together network data from the German internet economy in a low-risk manner. Another key aspect of the project is the development of a digital twin to simulate network disruptions and crisis scenarios - such as software errors or power outages. Building on this, a citizen information system is being developed that presents complex situations in an understandable way. Legal, organizational and human framework conditions are also examined.
ALL#HANDS was selected as part of the funding measure "Benefits in data ecosystems: Competition - Communication - Cooperation" from 90 submissions together with six other projects by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and is being funded with around 2.9 million euros.
Project partners: Leitwert GmbH - IBH IT Service GmbH - IPB Internet Provider in Berlin GmbH - BCIX Management GmbH - eco Service GmbH - Hamburg University of Applied Sciences TUD Dresden University of Technology - Munich University of Technology
