Don’t let go. Human chain on 13th February 2020
The Lord Mayor of the State Capital of Dresden together with the parliamentary groups of the City Council, representatives of business, science, culture, art, sport, trade unions, churches, the Jewish community, and other civil society actors once again call to participate in the human chain. As in previous years, the human chain has been registered by the Rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen: ‘At 6pm on 13th February, people will join hands and connect in the city centre, as they form the links of the chain. In most cases with complete strangers, without regard to differences in age, gender, skin colour, origin or any other external features. The message of the human chain is as current as ever: It is a resounding ‘yes’ to humanity, tolerance, peacefulness, and respectful co-existence. And through this message, the human chain is, at the same time, a clear 'no' to disrespect, exclusion, and the misappropriation of the commemorations by radical forces.’

The human chain event will start at 5pm on the Neumarkt, and the participants will close the human chain at 6pm, accompanied by the chimes of the church bells in the city centre.
