QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: TUD rises in the ranks of three subject areas
TU Dresden substantially improved its standing in three subject areas of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. In “Engineering and Technology,” TUD placed 90th, thus ranking amongst the Top 100 and rising significantly from its spot at 129th place in 2021. In the “Life Science and Medicine” subject area, TUD has now reached 156th place (compared to 165th in 2021), and 124th in “Natural Sciences” (140th in 2021).
TU Dresden also ranks among the Top 100 in two individual disciplines. The university’s “Material Sciences” are ranked at 49th place – an improvement by four places compared to the previous year. In “Medical Engineering,” TUD placed 93rd (compared to 105th in 2021).
The QS Rankings by the British service provider Quacquarelli Symonds is one of the most important international ranking systems. The QS World University Rankings by Subject are published annually and are primarily geared toward prospective students. The rankings are determined by specific factors including academic reputation, citations per faculty and employer reputation according to widespread surveys of employers worldwide. The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 comprise five subject areas with a total of 51 disciplines.
