Smart City model project at the Saxon Transfer Roadshow at U Dresden
From the Data4City innovation team to app-based innovation for more citizen participation in the Dresden Smart City model project
The nominees of the Saxon Transfer Award will present their innovative projects at the Saxon Transfer Roadshow 2022.
The Saxon Transfer Roadshow 2022, hosted by Future SAX, will take place on Thursday, 14.07.2022 in the Makerspace of SLUB. The venue suits the forward-looking ideas of the projects presented. From TU Dresden, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rainer Noennig, head of the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture, will be at the forefront. The laboratory works every day on innovative ideas and projects - which sometimes develop into astonishing success stories.
Just a few years ago, a joint InnoTeam of Knowledge Architecture and Spectos GmbH was researching new business areas and service innovations for the digital city as part of the ESF-funded research cooperation "Data4City". The InnoTeam developed new approaches on how to create new added value for the administration, economy and science - but above all for city dwellers themselves - from the constantly growing data stocks of the urban environment. These findings can now flow directly into the Smart City model project, which will develop and test digital solutions for Dresden's city life of the future in the coming years. Together with the state capital Dresden, Wissensarchitektur was able to raise a total of 19 million euros for the project from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building and is leading the sub-projects for "Smart Participation" as well as for the overarching strategy development. In order to demonstrate the approach of intelligent participation, as it is to be pursued in the Smart City model project, at the Transfer Roadshow, the participation tool U_CODE, also developed by the Knowledge Architecture, will be presented on site with a "digital participation playground". Here, those present can design, comment and share their own ideas for the Smart City Dresden "hands-on" - and thus participate directly in the design of a smarter city of the future.
The Saxon Transfer Roadshow presents knowledge and technology transfer projects that further develop Saxony's economy as an innovative force. While Professor Noennig will present the participation system U_CODE and the model project Smart City, the managing director of Spectos GmbH, Niels Delater, will present the project "Data4City" itself, which became the precursor and test laboratory for the Dresden model project now underway. During a panel discussion followed by a live demonstration of digital participation tools, participants will be able to get an idea of the current digital participation options for themselves. With all the innovations in the room, the roadshow is also intended to provide an opportunity for networking and constructive exchange, possibly creating new forward-looking synergies.
