In the winter semester 2023/24, the Custody will continue its series of events "Collection over Lunch". For two semesters now, it has been inviting TUD staff and students as well as interested members of the public to the university's collection rooms on the second Thursday of every month at 12 noon. Short guided tours in German language provide exciting and entertaining insights into the university's collections as well as into the current use of the historical teaching materials and exhibits.

To kick things off, Göran Tronicke will lead a tour of the Physics Equipment Collection in the Recknagel Building on Thursday, 9 November 2023. With its 200 exhibits, the Physical Equipment Collection is one of the oldest collections at TU Dresden. The collection was first mentioned in 1836, and a large part of the equipment goes back to August Toepler (1836-1912), Professor of Experimental Physics and Director of the Physics Institute at the Dresden University of Technology between 1876 and 1900.

The series continues on 14 December 2023 in the Hermann Krone Collection and the Scientific Photographic Collection and on 11 January 2024 in the Herbarium Dresdense.
