Advent season is here, although this unprecedented year has been dominated by the corona pandemic. In the past years, the DRESDEN-concept Welcome Center at TU Dresden has invited to join the Christmas Sponsor Program, where international guest researchers were introduced to Dresden families during the Advent and Christmas season. 

Even though personal meetings cannot be arranged this year, international researchers will not be left on their own thanks to the support of Secret-Santa.  

The project works as follows:

• Registration for the project
• Random selection of one Dresden resident/family and one (or more if desired) international researcher(s) or vice versa
• Exchange of the postal addresses
• Send and receive a small package to/from assigned partner
• Shared unpacking and exchange

The motto of the packages with a content worth about 10 EUR is the Christmas season or similar cultural holidays for the international researchers, who do not normally celebrate Christmas. In this way, all participants will gain an insight into festive traditions less known to them and at the same time will have a little present to look forward to.
The DRESDEN-concept Welcome Center would like to inspire as many people as possible for the Christmas project.
