On Teaching Day on 17 November 2023, this year's teaching awards of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden e. V. (GFF) were presented by the Vice-Rector Academiv Affairs Professor Michael Kobel and the Managing Director Dr. Undine Krätzig.

Since 1995, the GFF have been awarding prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of education. Following the successful launch last year, the Student Teaching Awards were also announced in the 2022/2023 academic year. The joint design of teaching by teachers and students is a central concern of our university and an integral part of TU Dresden's teaching mission statement. Student commitment to teaching should therefore be recognized with a special teaching award. Three formats and student initiatives were selected from the proposals submitted:

• Jessica Flecks, Barbara Hoffmann: Umweltringseminar - "Theater ist Krise" - Über Menschen in Klima- und Gesellschaftskrisen.
• Jochen Diepelt: Studentisches Tutorium - Statik - Theorie und Berechung von Tragwerken
• Julia Seilert, Maximilian Schurig: Service Learning Project KinderLeseUniversität 

This year's GFF 2023 Teaching Award was looking for teaching and learning concepts that deal with the topics of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or AI-supported language models from different perspectives or use them didactically in teaching, learning or research scenarios. Once again, all university members were invited to submit proposals. From these, the GFF Executive Board, together with the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs , selected the following winners for the Teaching Award. 

• Dr. Sabine Apelt, Dr. Benjamin Kruppke: Kompetenzatelier mit Scrum
• Team BQL/ZLSB: Wie künstliche Intelligenz die Schule von morgen positiv verändern könnte - Chancen, Herausforderungen, Risiken
• Prof. Dr. Alfred Benedikt Brendel, Ricardo Andres Rubiano Cruz, Martin Böhme: Data Science - Advanced Analytics
• Prof. Dr. Jakob Kather, Dr. Moritz Herzog, Dr. Nora Herzog
