University-Wide Inaugural Lecture on April 21st - Prof. Otger Campàs
In the monthly "University-wide inaugural lecture", TU Dresden publicly introduces newly appointed professors from various disciplines every third Thursday and welcomes anyone interested.
The event on April 21st is dedicated to Prof. Otger Campàs. He was appointed speaker of the Cluster of Exzellence PoL at TU Dresden in 2022 and conducts research at their Chair of Tissue Dynamics. His academic career has taken him to the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Harvard University, among others. Multiple funding prizes and awards from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health or the National Academy of Engineering underscore Campàs' commitment. In his inaugural lecture, he will discuss the physical processes that cells use to collectively shape tissues during embryonic development.
The presentation will be held in English and will be accompanied by a reception.
