US Ambassador Dr. Amy Gutmann in conversation with TUD students

Dr. Amy Gutmann, US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, speaking with students at TU Dresden. TUD Rector Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger (right) greeted her and presented key facts about the university.

Dr. Amy Gutmann, US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, outlined her viewpoints on current topics and answered questions posed by students.
Dr. Amy Gutmann, US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ken Toko, US Consul General in Leipzig, paid a visit to TU Dresden on November 29 as part of a larger tour through the Free State of Saxony. After an introduction from TUD Rector Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger, the Ambassador and Consul General sat down to converse with students. In addition to the importance of transatlantic relations and the fundamental understanding of democracy, they talked about present-day issues affecting students – including the responses of international policymakers to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
On the morning preceding this discussion, Dr. Gutmann visited the Saxon Minister President Michael Kretschmer, as well as the president and members of the Saxon State Parliament.
