Linked to the whole world - no science without internationality
The world is closely interlinked in almost all areas of life. When it comes to challenges like climate change, it is clear that every area of the globe is now affected in some way. But every other crisis, whether it is the Corona pandemic or the conflict in Ukraine, has many different and sometimes severe effects that hardly anyone had in mind beforehand.
The key to understanding the interrelationships and developing solutions to the multitude of questions is an internationally closely linked science. It is important that people from all over the world, with their knowledge and experience, research together and search for answers. This applies in medicine no less than in physics, transport and traffic science or the social sciences.
The current TUD newspaper supplement in the Sächsische Zeitung shows what it means to network a university globally, how an international campus and togetherness can be created across a wide range of origins. Numerous exciting projects illustrate the benefit this has for research, students, and also for experienced researchers.
