Science goes international
Science is international – and it’s on the move! The campus of Technische Universität Dresden, London and Wrocław are the next stops for the DRESDEN-concept science exhibition which already inspired locals and guests on the Dresden Neumarkt square from July to October 2016.
Before the exhibition sets out on its great journey, it will make stopovers at the DrePunct library of the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), TU Dresden’s Werner-Hartmann building and, come February, the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD).
Three of the originally eight CityTrees are currently put on display at TU Dresden (Zellescher Weg), Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTW Dresden) and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf.
From May onwards, the exhibition will commence its international journey in London where it will showcase Dresden-based cutting-edge science at the King’s College London. In September, the exhibition will be displayed on one of the most central squares in Wrocław – the Plac Solny, right in the vicinity of the town hall.
There will be manifold activities surrounding the event, i.e. networking and study information events and scientific events such as keynote speeches and panel discussions. The event is accompanied by well-known Dresden-based scientists.
“It is important to us that the exhibition provides information about research within the DRESDEN-concept alliance. With the new locations, we are able to carry our fascination for science and our research results far beyond Dresden, and make a valuable contribution to our scientific fields as well as for Dresden itself”, states Prof. Ludwig Schultz, Head Office Manager of DRESDEN-concept.
What is DRESDEN-concept?
DRESDEN-concept is an alliance of 24 partners from the world of science and culture. Co-operation is targeted at exploiting and utilising synergies in the fields of research, training, infrastructure, administration and transfer. To this end, DRESDEN-concept’s science strategy is co-ordinated, and areas in which Dresden is a global leader are identified. The partners work together towards attracting and retaining the world’s leading scientists for the science hub Dresden.
