80 years after the end of the Second World War: Conversation with contemporary witness Renate Aris, Holocaust survivor from Dresden
The last Dresden Holocaust survivor, Renate Aris, will talk about her life story at TUD Dresden University of Technology on May 20, 2025 starting at 6 pm. In her encounter with young people, Renate Aris combines remembrance with an appeal for responsibility, civil courage and humanity. Simultaneous translation into English will be provided. Renate Aris already moved her audience at TU Dresden in November 2024. The location will be announced after registration.
The contemporary witness talk is part of the Jewish Campus Week 2025. From May 19 to 25, several events will take place at over 15 university locations across Germany to make Jewish life visible in all its diversity, promote encounters and create space for open exchange.

May 21, 4 to 6 pm: Workshop "Anti-Semitism and anti-feminism - historical and ideological entanglements"
Anti-Semitism and anti-feminism are often intertwined - this workshop will shed light on their ideological connections and take a look at historical and current counter-movements. Open to everyone, regardless of previous knowledge. The workshop is organized by Keshet e.V. It will be held in German spoken language.
May 22, 5:30 pm: Safe space for Jewish students
Jewish students of all semesters are cordially invited to network and exchange ideas in a protected environment. The Safe Space offers space for personal conversations, mutual support and joint reflection. The Safe Space is supported by the Jewish Alliance of Central Germany.
