The helpers at the Repair Café in the SLUB Makerspace volunteer their time and skills in keeping with the credo of giving broken objects a second life. In the new episode of “Richard has a closer look at...,” the student reporter takes advantage of a free opportunity to fix up his winter jacket with special guidance.

From toasters to laptops to lamps – with the right experience and proper tools, many household objects can be repaired and don’t need to be chucked in the trash. Anyone is welcome at the self-help workshop – but please be sure to sign up for the event in advance. In the new video, Richard finds out how the Repair Café came to be and where urgently needed volunteers can sign up to help.

The “Richard & Alina testen...” (Richard & Aline have a closer look at...) video series offers a glimpse into the lives of students – beyond the daily grind on campus. They try out various sport groups, activities outside of lectures and university groups. From editing to production, three TU Dresden students manage this video series.
