Quality Management for Research
In accordance with the requirements of the Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG) and the evaluation regulation of TU Dresden the quality management for research was established. The fundamental principles for the quality management for research, knowledge transfer and promotion of young researchers can be found here (in German only).
As part of the quality management for research, the faculties at TU Dresden are evaluated institutionally at regular intervals. To ensure the comparability of evaluations, these principles also incorporate a recommendation for evaluation criteria (in English and German) applicable to the entire university.
The following faculty evaluations have been or are currently being carried out at TU Dresden:
- Faculty of Architecture (2022/23)
- Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science (2019/20)
- Faculty of Business and Economics (2016/17)
- Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry (2018/19)
- Faculty of Civil Engineering (2022/23)
- Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2020/21)
- Faculty of Environmental Sciences (2024/25)
- Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering (2021/22)
- Faculty of Psychology (2019/20)
- Faculty of Transportation and Traffic Science (2018/19)
The faculty evaluations are closely linked to the renewal of TU Dresden’s Current Research Information System (FIS). The modern FIS serves as a central reporting tool in quality management for research, with the aim of avoiding multiple reporting requirements for scientists at TU Dresden.
