Responsible certified electrician at TU Dresden
Appointing a responsible certified electrician is not only a legal obligation, it is also an expression of our commitment to the safety of our university members. The Responsible Certified Electrician (German: verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft – vEFK) ensures that research, teaching, and operations are carried out in a safe environment and that technical standards are always met.
In accordance with VDE 1000-10, electro-technical DIN standards issued by the DKE (Deutsche Kommission Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik), the Certified Electrician assumes the technical management of our electrical engineering operations. The core tasks of the Responsible Certified Electrician are:
- Organization and responsibility for the safe operation of electrical systems
- Compliance with and monitoring of electrical engineering standards, laws, and VDE regulations
- Instruction and supervision of persons who have received training in electro-technical fields and qualified electricians
- Performance of risk assessments and determination of appropriate protective measures
- Responsibility for occupational safety and accident prevention in electronics
The Responsible Certified Electrician is the person responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is carried out safely, in accordance with standards, and in compliance with legal requirements.
