Quality Management in Teaching and Learning
At the TU Dresden are used a multiplicity of different methods to assure the quality of teaching and learning since more than 15 years.
Hence, for the development of a quality management system in teaching and learning the University Executive Board established a group (Team Q) of professors, students and staff members under the leadership of the former Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Karl Lenz in June 2009. The aim was to conceive a concept for a quality management system that follows the laws and rules of the Accreditation Council with regard to the requirements for the system accreditation. With that, the quality management system of the TU Dresden should be appropriate to replace the present obligation for the programme accreditation. During the development of the concept national and international best-practice examples of quality management systems in the higher education area have been considered.
In the spring of 2011 the Team Q has presented a concept for a quality management in teaching and learning. Based on this concept the Principles of quality management in teaching and learning have been decided on 11th May 2011 by the Senate. Now the principles are already given in a revised version which the senate has decided on 14th April 2021.
